How the Project Works

Knit a tiny scarf using 100% undyed Irish wool, 4 stitches wide by 36 rows long or 25mm x 100mm. This is your soil biodiversity monitoring device!

When the soil warms up in the Spring, feed the scarf to the flora and fauna by gently burying it 6cm down at your test site.

After 2 months, unearth your scarf and document your findings. Less scarf remaining means more soil life activity.
